New Lexus ES 2022 Release Date, Changes, Specs – The Lexus ES 2022 received a mid-life upgrade for the 2022 model year. Following its 2018 complete redesign, the ES, a conservative luxury sedan of mid-size size, gets a few styling changes. The ES looks much more traditional than its predecessors, and the F-Sport trim helps in this department. Two new trims are the ES 250 AWD (and ES 350 Black Line special edition) which will be the most significant 2022 changes.

Customers who live in areas that experience harsh winters will be most interested in the ES 250 AWD. Lexus also updated existing ES trims with standard safety features. Although it was a sedan that appealed to older buyers in the past, Lexus continues its efforts to bring the ES to a younger group of luxury vehicle shoppers who want a stylish and reliable vehicle at a reasonable price.

Lexus ES 2022 Redesign

Exterior Design

A younger generation has received the carmaker’s new design language well, so Lexus decided to keep evolving the look. The Lexus ES 2022 will continue to use the GA-K global architecture. It is longer, wider, and lower than the previous generation. The trademark spindle grille is back, and the F Sport trim has a mesh pattern with jet black finishing instead of the standard model’s vertical bars. The optional triple beam headlights can be equipped with three LED projector units and have L-shaped marker lights.

The standard wheel size remains at 17 inches with a 10-spoke design. For higher trims, a set of 18-inch or 19-inch wheels is available. F Sport comes with its 19-inch wheels. Lexus offers more than a dozen exterior colors, including premium Eminent White Pearl and Matador Red Mica. A new Black Line Special Edition is available for 2022. It’s limited to 1,500 examples. It comes in three distinct colors: black outer mirrors darkened F Sport wheels, and lug nuts.

Interior Design

Lexus made the wise decision to leave the interior of Lexus ES 2022 essentially unchanged. The 2018 redesign was a significant step forward. Therefore, the mid-life changes are minimal. Drivers still enjoy standard 10-way power-adjustable rear seats, while the rear passengers have more headroom than previous generations. With 13.9 cubic feet of storage, the trunk is quite large.

Standard equipment includes an 8-inch multi-media system and an optional 12.3-inch display with the Navigation package. All trims include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. The gauge cluster for the driver measures 7 inches, but it increases by 1 inch with the F Sport. Buyers get a standard Pioneer 10-speaker audio system, but those who value sound quality will upgrade to the Mark Levinson 17-speaker system.

The Black Line, a limited edition product, features a two-tone interior featuring gray stitching and white trim. It also includes a Zero Halliburton-designed two-piece luggage set. In addition, every bag comes with a chrome logo badge laser-etched with “Zero Halliburton For Lexus,” premium interior liner, and a Lexus grille and embossed logo badge.

Lexus ES 2022 Engine

The most important addition to the Lexus ES 2022’s is the availability of all-wheel drive. Unfortunately, it’s only available on the ES 250 model. This means that the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 203 HP is the only engine this system can be paired with. Lexus claims a combined fuel efficiency rating of 28 MPG. The AWD system can send up to 50% of the engine torque to the rear wheels if it senses a loss in traction at the front. The rear axle’s prop shaft disengages when AWD isn’t needed to maintain fuel efficiency.

The optional 3.6-liter V6 is unchanged, with 302 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the front wheels. The combined fuel economy is 26 mpg. F Sport trims feature a stiffer suspension and adjustable dampers, similar to the LC coupe or LS flagship sedan. Lexus claims that this suspension offers 650 levels for adjustment to meet all drivers’ preferences. In addition, all ES trims include the Lexus Safety System+ 2.0. This includes pre-collision, lane departure alert, lane tracing assistance, all-speed dynamic cruise controller, and road sign aid.

Lexus ES 2022 Release Date and Price
