New 2022 Lexus LC 500 Changes, Interior, Review – Lexus revealed the LFA, the flagship supercar it had been developing for the past ten years, at the beginning of the new decade. It was meant to challenge Ferrari’s dominance. Unfortunately, the LFA was more expensive than the Ferrari 599 and took a decade to develop. Its starting price was $375,000, and it finally went on sale in 2011. So how then did this out-of-date, overpriced Lexus become one of the most admired cars of the century?
Although the LFA’s remarkable 4.8-liter V10 engine is the main reason for its success, one UK automotive journalist may have been another factor. Lexus has been the focus of all eyes trying to create a sequel to the LFA, one of the unique cars from Japan. The 2022 Lexus LC 500 is the new flagship Lexus car. Although it can’t match the LFA in sheer power and performance, it does offer a competitive price point. We tested a 2022 model to see if the LC 500 is the proper sequel.
2022 Lexus LC 500 Redesign
The LFA is a legendary car, but its styling wasn’t the car’s main attraction. Many people didn’t like the LFA’s air scoop. It made it appear that Lexus couldn’t fit the hood properly. The 2022 Lexus LC 500 has a small gap in its hood, a subtle nod to LFA. The overall shape of the LC is classic sports car proportions with a long nose and a short rear deck. However, it incorporates so many unique styling elements that it’s difficult to see them all in one glance. You’ll see a new component of the LC every time you look at it from a different angle.
The LED taillights look almost like they go on forever, which is my favorite feature. Few production cars look as good as the concept car they replaced. The 2012 LF-LC Concept car is hard to distinguish from the production LC. However, the LC is a real head-turner when you add a stunning shade of Infrared paint. Although there has been a lot of criticism about the Lexus Spindle Grille, this is the best example.
The task of getting into the Lexus LC 500 2022 Lexus feels futuristic. However, you can step into one of the most luxurious interiors in automotive history thanks to the Engineized mechanism that allows you to access the handles. Whether it is leather, metal, and Alcantara, every piece that you touch feels high-quality and well-crafted. My tester’s tan interior accentuates the elegant lines in the door trim and seats. The dashboard design is simple, with the majority of controls being restricted to the Enform infotainment software. As with all Lexus products, this is the LC’s biggest flaw.
It is hard to use the laptop trackpad-style controller while driving, and essential functions such as the heated/ventilated seat controls don’t have physical buttons that can be accessed quickly. Although the LC gained Apple CarPlay in 2019, Android Auto is still missing from the Lexus range. Toyota has already introduced Android Auto to its vehicles, so it is only a matter of time before it reaches Lexus. The optional Performance Package included Alcantara sports seats with eight-way power adjustment. Our test car had the optional Performance Package. These chairs are incredibly comfortable but don’t have the same massage as some other competitors.
2022 Lexus LC 500 Engine
2022 Lexus LC 500 – Under the futuristic design car lies an old-school heart – a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 that produces 471 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 398 lb. ft at 4,800 pm. This V8 engine feels very special, even though it sounds as loud as the LFA V10 V10. This engine reminds me most of the S65 V8 in the E90 generation BMW M3, which I love (high praise). The LC is more powerful than its turbocharged counterparts. However, to unlock its peak power, the driver must crank the engine to over 7,000 rpm.
Smooth-shifting, 10-speed automatic can shift duties. However, it can also be used in manual mode. The computers rarely gave me any flack when I tried to move my gears. Shifts can be done in 0.12 seconds, which is half the time it takes for a human eye to blink. This is an excellent automatic transmission and deserves to be compared with the best dual-clutch units. The Lexus 10-speed Lexus 10-speed is the only transmission that can match its smoothness and control.
